Sun and Steeps in Whistler
January 15, 2007
What a great weekend. The sun was shining, the snow was soft, and the temperatures were inverted.
An inversion, for those who don't know, happens when cold air is trapped in the valley and the top of the mountain is up to 5 degrees Celsius warmer than the bottom. You could really feel the change on the ski out. From mid-station down was cold but the top of the mountain had glorious sunny conditions.
What's in store next? Well, by the look of the forecast no one really knows. The high pressure will probably hold for another week with some weak disturbances (clouds) thrown in.
