Soggy Weather
October 26, 2006
Everyone in Whistler knew that the beautiful weather we were having the past couple of weeks was not going to last. We can't have awesome skiing without a little rain. Actually a lot of rain is what it takes to get our season up and running.
Every season we start skiing on the mid mountain. When we finally hit the alpine it is an absolute boulder field. But it only takes days of snow to fill this in so that we can ski there.
This brings up another point. If, on the off chance there is some liquid sunshine in the valley while you are here on vacation - do not despair! It means it is snowing on the mountain. And usually not too far above your head. So, don't sit in your room and pout. Don't sit in Starbuck's crying into your tall skim milk decaf latte. Get your butt into the gondola and go up the hill.
Ride da' powder!
That's it, that's all.
